Water Rate Increase Proposed
The City of Reddley is proposing a water rate increase due to rising operational costs and dramatically reduced revenues due to conservation impacts. The proposed water rate increase equates to approximately $3.64 more per month for the average single family residence base rate, which equates to less than the cost of a cup of coffee per week. Cricket Hollow Boat Launch Facility Negative Declaration
Cricket Hollow Boat Launch Facility Mitigated Negative Declaration dated March 18, 2016. On March 26, 2013, staff submitted an application with the California Department of Boating and Waterways to move forward with the Cricket Hollow Boat Launch Facility project. As part of the grant application process, the City is required to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and other regulatory agencies to obtain the appropriate permitting. In June of 2015, the City hired Crawford and Bowen Planning, Inc. to prepare the Initial Study and associated Mitigated Negative Declaration, Section 106 Compliance, and regulatory permitting for the Cricket Hollow Boat Launch Facility.

Master Fee Schedule Proposed Revisions

The City of Reedley reviews its schedule of fees and charges, known as the "Master Fee Schedule", on an annual basis. This regular review of fees is a key component to maintaining financial control, equitably pricing services and offerings, and identifying core programs, facilities and services. Proposed additions or revisions to the Master Fee Schedule can be found here or by downloading a copy of the April 12, 2016 City Council Agenda. The public will have two opportunities to participate in the fee review process, on April 12th and 26th, 2016. The proposed changes to specific fees will be presented at the April 12, 2016 City Council meeting as a Public Hearing, followed by further consideration and adoption on April 26, 2016.

City Receives Bond Rating Upgrade

The City's Wastewater Bonds received a credit rating upgrade. Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has completed their review of the former 2007 Wastewater Revenue Bonds, raising the credit rating from "A-" to "A," while affirming the 'stable' outlook. The review was done as part of the refunding process, which will result in an annual debt service payment savings. Utility Bills

Beginning May 2016, customers will see a blue return envelope included with their City utility bill. Over the years, many customers have asked for a return envelope, and the City is pleased to be able to finally accommodate this request. If paying by mail or using the drop box at City Hall, please use the provided envelope to ensure your payment is processed in a timely manner. If you are paying your bill online and still receive a paper statement, or prefer to continue paying in person, feel free to bring unused envelopes back to City Hall so they can be reused and help keep costs down. The City of Reedley offers convenient utility payment options that are designed to save you time!

City of Reedley Climate Action Plan

The City of Reedley, as demonstrated in this CAP, has achieved the required Greenhouse Gas emission reductions from municipal operations as well as compliance with California Assembly Bill (AB) 32, The Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 and has established a checklist to ensure these required reductions are achieved community-wide. The Climate Action Plan was unanimously recommended for approval by the Planning Commission and is scheduled to go before the City Council on December 8, 2015. Click here

City Receives National Budget Award

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has announced that the City of Reedley has received the GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 2015-16 Annual Budget, representing the first time the City has received this award and recognition. City Council Meetings Go LIVE!

The City of Reedley has begun "live streaming" City Council meetings on the Internet to improve accessibility and transparency in the community.. You can listen to audio from the Council Chambers via a link on the City's homepage here. Anyone with a smart phone or Internet connection will be able to listen in to City Council meetings "live" if they cannot make it to City Hall. The "live stream" is audio only, and does not include video at this time.

City Redevelopment Bonds Receive Credit Rating Upgrade

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has completed their review of the Reedley Redevelopment Agency, series 2011A tax allocation bonds (TABs), raising the credit rating from "A-" to "A" while affirming the stable outlook. The City of Reedley and River City Theatre Company are working together to bring theater to those who may not otherwise have an opportunity to enjoy this experience. For every show offered by RCTC a group will be selected to attend. Many of your questions will be answered in the Dress Rehearsal Guidelines. Applications are required for consideration.
